Paradise Park wins International Award for Best New or Renovated Entertainment FacilityParadise Park was honored with the 2004 Golden Token Award as the Best New or Renovated Family Entertainment Center (FEC) by the International Association for the Leisure & Entertainment Industries (IALEI). The international award was presented at the IALEI annual Fun Expo convention in Las Vegas, Nev., on September 30, 2004. The award is given each year to recognize design excellence in the family entertainment center industry, which includes over 20,000 facilities worldwide. "We are honored and excited to accept this award," said Jon Ellis, president and CEO of Paradise Park. "It is a tribute to the dedicated work of our entire staff and facility design team. The facility has been very well received throughout the greater Kansas City area and beyond, and we thank IALEI for this honor." The Paradise Park project is an expansion of the former Putter's Paradise, which opened in 1992 with a 3,500 square foot clubhosue building and two miniature golf courses. In 1993, an eight-station outdoor batting cage was added, and an indoor arcade was added in 1994. The original Putter's Paradise building was demolished September 3, 2002, to make way for the new Paradise Park facility. Paradise Park celebrated its official Grand Opening May 7-9, 2004. The expansion project was designed and produced by White Hutchinson Leisure & Learning Group of Kansas City. |
